Privacy Policy

14 Oct 2026

This policy explains what personal data smeria.com collects when you browse, get in touch or download a resource, why it is collected, and what control you have over it. It is written to meet the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who is responsible for this data

The controller of your personal data is Iulia Smeria, operating as [legal form and registered name], registered in Romania under [Trade Register no.], tax ID [CUI], registered office [address].

For any privacy question or request, write to hello@smeria.com. You will get an answer within one month.

No Data Protection Officer is appointed, because this is a solo practice that does not process data on a large scale.

What data is collected, why, and for how long

Only the data you choose to give, plus basic technical data your browser sends. Nothing is sold, and nothing is used for automated decisions about you.

If you don't provide the data marked as needed in a form, the request can't be processed. Everything else is optional.

A few service providers process data on my behalf, under contracts that bind them to GDPR. They may only use it to provide their service to me.

Who else handles your data

Advertising and analytics partners. If you accept analytics or marketing cookies, the companies below receive data about your visit through tags on the site. For that collection they share responsibility with me as joint controllers. What they do with the data afterwards is covered by their own privacy policies, which also explain how to control the ads you see.

Data is also disclosed to public authorities when the law requires it. For clients, this includes invoice details sent to the Romanian tax authority (ANAF) through the national e-invoicing system, RO e-Factura.

Transfers outside the EU. Israel has an EU adequacy decision. Google, Meta and LinkedIn may transfer data to the United States. Those transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the company is certified, or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask for a copy of the safeguards used.

Cookies

The site uses three kinds of cookies and similar tags.

  • Essential cookies, set by Wix, keep the site secure and working (for example, load balancing and fraud protection). They need no consent and can't be switched off here.

  • Analytics cookies, from Wix and Google Analytics, measure which pages are visited and how, so the site can improve.

  • Marketing cookies, from the Meta Pixel, Google Ads and the LinkedIn Insight Tag, let those platforms show ads to people who visited the site and measure whether ads lead to enquiries.

Analytics and marketing cookies load only after you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can accept one category without the other. You can change your choice at any time through the Cookie Settings link in the site footer, or block cookies in your browser. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site.

Your rights

Under GDPR you can, free of charge:

  • access the data held about you and get a copy

  • correct data that is wrong or incomplete

  • delete your data, where there is no legal reason to keep it

  • restrict how it is used while a request is checked

  • object to use based on legitimate interest, and to direct marketing at any time

  • take your data to another provider in a common format (portability)

  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what was done before

To use any of these rights, email hello@smeria.com. You may be asked to confirm your identity. You will get an answer within one month.

If you think your data is mishandled, you can complain to the Romanian supervisory authority, the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP), or to the authority in the EU country where you live or work. Writing to me first usually solves things faster.

Security, children and changes

Security. Data is kept in password-protected accounts with two-factor authentication, shared only with the providers listed above, and limited to what the work needs. No online system is risk-free; if a breach affects you, you will be told as GDPR requires.

Children. The site and services are for businesses and are not aimed at anyone under 18. Data from someone under 18 is deleted once noticed.

Changes. This policy is updated when the site or the tools behind it change. The date at the top shows the latest version. Significant changes are announced by email to anyone on the list.
